About the Role

  • The Business Manager 2 works with the school principal and school executive and is responsible for the efficient management of the school's business functions including administration, asset management, procurement, finance and work health and safety.
May be required to supervise and lead the school administrative team and supervise non-teaching staff. The role may lead or manage projects or business functions in collaboration with other school staff and additionally may be required to manage the work of contractors from time to time

Essential Requirements

  • Working with Children Check Clearance
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education and Training policies.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake and manage financial and accounting functions including the use of computerised financial /administrative systems.
  • Welldeveloped oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with school staff, students and members of the school community.

School Information
The NSW Centre for Effective Reading (NSWCER) is a NSW Department of Education and NSW Health initiative. NSWCER is a state-wide service for students referred from eligible government and non-government schools.

NSWCER supports primary aged, rural and remote students with complex reading difficulties who have been identified and accepted for a direct service.


NSWCER has hubs located in Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and the Sydney metropolitan area with a multidisciplinary team consisting of Speech Pathologists, Psychologists and classroom teachers to provide the best support and intervention for students.

A comprehensive assessment is provided by a multidisciplinary team, these results, form the personalised interventions for each student. Hub teams provide support tailored to student needs.

This includes staff training in program implementation, regular monitoring and feedback, personalised learning meetings, direct intervention, targeted professional learning, class-based strategies and assistive technology where appropriate.

Reading intervention is provided for 12 months in which frequent communication between the referring school team and the NSWCER will support adjustments to the intervention, in response to student progress
