The role
A key role within Suncorp Group's CFO space. You will manage the Due Diligence & Verification process for all Suncorp Bank debt programmes.


You will work closely with EM Funding, in funding the Bank from wholesale markets utilising a range of products and across various jurisdictions.

In addition to this, assist EM Funding to manage a culture of quality liability raising and marketing strategies; and implement strategies to maximize funding opportunities from existing wholesale and middle market customer base both domestically and offshore.


What you'll do

  • Manage and perform the duties associated with the Due Diligence & Verification process for all Suncorp Bank debt programme such as A$MTN, Covered Bond, USCP, US144a, Securitisation Trusts, Apollo and Tier 1 and Subordinated debt for Suncorp Group
  • Provide a concise, documented, & compliant framework adhering to set procedures and verification of disclosure material, including offer documents and other programme documentation
  • Liaise and provide advice to internal stakeholders, particularly Subject Matter Experts, who are required to assist Treasury in confirming the accuracy of programme documentation
  • Liaise and support external stakeholders (i.e., Legal, tax, audit, dealers, arrangers, rating agencies) who may be involved in the programme update process and/ or the issuance of securities across the capital stack
  • Assist/ lead with transaction execution for Bank debt and Group Capital deals
  • Manage the preparation, verification and sign off of the debt/ capital transaction documentation
  • Provide advice, prepare papers and present to a range of internal committees
  • Assist the EM Funding to effectively and proactively manage the portfolio of existing wholesale funding counterparties
  • Drive continuous improvement across programme updates and generate ideas to continuously improve the Treasury funding business
  • Develop and maintain a diverse and costeffective funding base both domestically and offshore to assist EM Funding to meet budget targets and support liquidity metrics
  • Assist EM Funding coordinate and implement the marketing plan for short
- and long-term funding

  • Foster an inclusive environment across the team to ensure everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the funding plan and outlook

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor Degree in finance, economics or related discipline preferred
  • Post graduate qualifications in finance, economics or related discipline preferred
  • AFMA Specialist accreditation required to be completed if not held
  • AFMA Conduct and Ethics accreditation required to be completed if not held
  • 10 years' experience preferred in Treasury related and/or Debt Capital Markets or related industries
  • Superior transaction management and presentation skills
  • Demonstrable deep understanding of debt capital markets
  • Ability to influence and engage with all levels in the organisation and with key external partners
  • Strong ability to identify and articulate risks, and solutions for driving sustainable performance
