  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $106,025 to $117,363 + super

Creating places where people feel welcomed, connected and love to be means addressing wellbeing, walkability, amenity and activation. Our programs support pilot and demonstration projects aimed at building capacity and delivering best practice place-led approaches.


The Cities Revitalisation and Place Branch are a team of strategists, policy-makers, place-managers, project managers, planners and storytellers that improve and shine a spotlight on public space in NSW.


The team are currently seeking to appoint a highly skilled and organised
Project Officer to contribute to the delivery of placemaking projects and initiatives for quality places across NSW.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to join a dedicated and highly regarded team to contribute to a new collaborative project.


About You


As the Project Officer, you will be part of a fast-paced team delivering high-profile programs to realise quality project outcomes for Cities Revitalisation and Place.

You will be responsible for undertaking a range of special projects including research, data collection anddrafting project plans to assist the Manager and Senior Manager.

You will deliver a range of project management support services with tight deadlines and coordinate the workflow of activities to the Division.

In addition, you will provide high quality, timely responses to department staff from the Minister's office, the department, and stakeholders.


Essential Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in creative placemaking, project management, urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience working in the delivery of placemaking projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working collaboratively to achieve successful place and project outcomes
  • Demonstrated project management and coordination skills for the management and delivery of creative placemaking projects.


Experience in supporting the planning and delivery of complex projects in urban renewal, urban and regional planning or management of public spaces.
