About You

  • Do you have experience and a record of achievement in implementing health service improvement in a complex service environment with relevant tertiary qualifications or a combination of qualifications and equivalent work experience
  • Have a current Australian Drivers Licence
  • You have the ability to provide coaching, capability development and leadership development in the healthcare setting
  • You can demonstrate a highlevel verbal and written communications, interpersonal and negotiation skills

What you'll be doing

  • This is an exciting opportunity to influence change in patient safety and experience within Central Coast Local Health District. The Manager Consumer and Carer Engagement will lead the Transforming Your Patient Experience program across CCLHD and develop and implement initiatives that improve patient, consumer and carer experience and consumer engagement within CCLHD and the Central Coast community to improve health outcomes for our patients.
  • The Quality, Strategy and Improvement Directorate leads, coordinates and manages the clinical governance, improvement and strategic development functions of the District providing advice to the Chief Executive, Board, Executive Leadership and Clinical Leadership teams. It will drive and enable the delivery of key initiatives concerning strategic and operational planning by developing and supporting improvement, research and innovative service provision to deliver high quality, safe patient integrated care, for the best possible value.
  • The Clinical Safety, Quality and Governance Directorate manages, monitors and evaluates patient quality and safety by creating an environment that promotes the use of best practice, evidencebased patient care. The Directorate encourages databased, decision
- making by; having robust systems to identify incidents and risks; monitoring, evaluating and reporting on health, quality and safety outcomes. The Directorate monitors and manages infection and clinical risk and encourages patients, carers, consumers, volunteers and staff to provide feedback on the safety and quality of the healthcare services that CCLHD deliver.

  • The Manager Consumer and Carer Engagement will lead the program across CCLHD and develop and implement initiatives that improve patient, consumer and carer experience and consumer engagement within CCLHD.
  • It is essential that this position works collaboratively with hospital managers, clinicians, other health professionals, consumers and volunteers to identify opportunities for innovation in care delivery, conduct detailed analyses to develop innovative approaches and to engage key internal and external partners to contribute to reform and innovation of programs.
  • This position will undertake comprehensive project management activities including project strategy and planning, stakeholder negotiation, and milestone reporting both within the CCLHD and in collaborative projects with the NSW Ministry of Health, other Pillars and LHDs/SHNs.
  • The position will provide highlevel advice to the Director Clinical Safety, Quality and Governance on Patient Experience, Consumer Engagement, Diversity, Carer and Volunteer activities within NSW Health including managing the Community and relevant committees.
