About the Role


We are hiring for two Supported Living sites in Brisbane which are in the suburbs of Hillcrest and Forest Lake.


In the first Supported Independent Living setting, you will support 1 male client who has an intellectual disability, autism, and a speech impairment.

This client requires personal care, assistance with daily living and appointments in the community. You will be required to complete a range of shifts Monday-Sunday including sleepovers. This client requires someone who has completed Mapa or Mabel training. (At Life Without Barriers we consider gender a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 27 (2), (c), (e) and (g) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, and so we ask that
only Male applicants apply)


Our Second Supported Independent Living setting supports three male clients, and you will be asked to complete a range of shifts Monday-Sunday including sleepovers.

Client one is nonverbal, has regular seizure activities and needs some assistance with personal care.

Client two, has an intellectual disability and autism. He is someone who is very busy, works during the day, and enjoys weekend outings. He needs occasional assistance with personal care.

Client three is verbal and has autism. He requires a worker who has an active support approach and supports in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow personcentered support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
  • Participate in community activities and encourage clients to perform daily living tasks
  • Track and document an individual's progress through thorough recordkeeping
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with our clients and their families

Skills & Experience

  • An unrestricted driver's licence
  • Commitment to a 24/7 roster, including active night shifts & weekends
  • Current First Aid Certificate, NDIS Screening Check
  • Sound computer, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to client support plans and complete documentation
