About the job:

The role of a Desktop Assessor involves accurately assessing property damage using various platforms such as desktop, virtual, and on-site/on-road assessments. The key responsibility is to determine claim quantum and scope under the relevant PDS. Through customer interactions, Desktop Assessors provide excellent service, ensuring customers feel supported and informed throughout the claims process.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Delivering professional and exceptional service during virtual and desktop assessments.
  • Proactively communicating advice, solutions, and claim progress to stakeholders.
  • Identifying customer resolution strategies to prevent escalations.
  • Promoting digital experience capabilities and enhancing customer interactions through technology.
  • Building reliable relationships with stakeholders and supporting best practice claim outcomes.
  • Responding promptly to customer and stakeholder requests.

Effective claims assessment:

  • Assessing property loss using various platforms to determine policy coverage and claim schedules.
  • Determining the most suitable claim fulfillment method based on customer needs.
  • Documenting decisions accurately and contributing to claims cost control.
  • Reviewing repair quotes and ensuring quality assurance processes.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of policy coverage for fair claim assessments.

Proactive risk management and compliance:

  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Recognizing fraudulent activities and reporting them promptly.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal policies and external requirements.

Contributions to the role:

  • Providing feedback on repairers and suggesting improvements.
  • Sharing process enhancements and industry insights with colleagues.
  • Staying informed of repair techniques and industry standards.
  • Supporting peers during major events and catastrophes.
  • Continuously enhancing skills and developing professionally.

Requirements:

  • Industry qualifications in loss adjusting or general insurance.
  • Experience in customer service and claims processes.
  • Previous assessor experience and computer literacy skills.
