Your opportunity


Reporting into the SHEQ Manager, the Competency & Training Coordinator plays a major part in working with the SHEQS team and HR to ensure adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements and directives from relevant authorities.


The role is responsible for:

  • Establishing, monitoring, and implementing strategies relating to competency management requirements
  • Supporting projects with Rail Safety/Rail Industry Worker requirements
  • Coordination of all required Competency Management activities to ensure HR, Line Management, Project Managers, Competency Assessors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are effectively carrying out the competence management functions as required by CPB's procedure
  • Supporting and maintaining compliance obligations at a branch and project level
  • Participating in compliance checks on projects in the order of audits, inspections and desktop studies

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Experience in implementing systems at a corporate and/or project level
  • Experience in Rail Industry Worker competencies highly regarded
  • Appreciation of legislative and regulatory obligations and requirements
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of scalability and appropriateness of processes and procedures at corporate and project level.
  • Appreciation of the need for the organisation to be client focused
  • Ability to effectively utilise ideas put forward by other staff
  • Competent at setting goals, determining priorities and adhering to a plan of action
