About the role

  • We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Processing of specimens including culturing
  • urines, swabs (various sites), faeces and
  • Preparation of smears for gram stain, reading of gramstained slides
  • Microscopy of cells in fluids, urines
  • Identification of crystals
  • Using analysers for urine microscopy and dipstick chemistry
  • Using analyser for occult blood determination

About you

  • To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
  • A relevant Science degree/Technical qualification obtained from a recognised Australian institution. (AIMS recognised tertiary institution).
  • Be able to work a 7 day rotating roster as well as participating in an oncall roster.
  • A Current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments both verbally and written.
  • Selfmotivation and the ability to work within a team.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound organisation skills.
  • A professional attitude towards confidentiality.
  • Ability to understand and ensure compliance with WH&S policies and guidelines.
