About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and career focused individual to support the business plan of Corporate Solutions by underwriting Energy Onshore, Mining and Utilities risks according to Corso's appetite and philosophy.
The role will involve execution of renewals and endorsements to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting relevant Underwriters or Senior Underwriters with business handling and data accuracy for new business and renewals;
- Underwriting Energy Onshore, Mining and Utilities business risks in conjunction with Underwriters and Senior Underwriters;
- Technically assess and underwrite business in accordance with Corso's ANZs profitability targets, underwriting guidelines and processes and within stated authorities. Actively implement the strategies and support the Corso Property & Specialties Team by sharing ideas and technical knowledge;
- Manage Energy Onshore, Mining and Utilities business by providing high quality, timely and appropriate underwriting service and support to clients, including timely and accurate documentation. Build rapport and provide a high standard of service to our thirdparty channels while maintaining key existing relationships;
- Identify and escalate queries to the relevant Underwriter or Senior Underwriter as required;
- Ensure the integrity of information on the relevant systems and underwriting is in accordance to underwriting guidelines, limits and pricing/rating procedures;
- Collaborate closely with onshore and offshore Operations team members (i.e. both UAs and Genpact) to ensure accurate and timely data captured in systems.
About the Team
This role sits within the Corporate Solutions Operations team and supports Property & Specialty Underwriting, a team responsible for enabling and generating economic profitable growth across Property, Engineering, Energy Onshore, Mining and Utilities in line with business strategy.
About You
- Background in underwriting Energy Onshore, Mining and Utilities or Property risks is desirable;
- Knowledge of Australian Energy Onshore, Mining and Utilities and broker markets and their trends;
- Tertiary or ANZIIF qualified (preferred);
- Ability to develop and maintain profitable client relationships;
- Client focused with strong marketing skills;
- Able to communicate and professionally interact with people from different levels/locations of the organisation;
- Well organised/strong time management skills;
- Selfmotivated, ambitious & takes own initiative to achieve goals;
- An interest in Underwriting is desirable;
- Strong eye for detail and problemsolving ability.
