The NSW Government Brand and Communications team works across the entire public sector and oversees the strategic direction and performance of customer-centric government communications, including advertising campaigns, NSW Government brand and other community and stakeholder engagement activities.


The Sector Capability unit is a strategic function of the Brand and Communications team that promotes and supports the professional development and 'connectedness" of all government communicators working for the NSW Government.


The "GovComms" capability program consists of a range of projects that focus on improving the skills, knowledge and capability of the communications professionals in NSW government.


As Marketing and Communication Coordinator you will help drive community engagement with the program by coordinating delivery of monthly and adhocnewsletters using our CRM platform, accessing engagement data to inform future program activities and managing the member database.

You will also support other digital platforms, events and content creation for the program.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create, modify and distribute effective enewsletters (eDMs) using CRM platform to keep members engaged and informed
  • Maintain contact database, track and analyse member engagement with program activities and highlight opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in the development of?information tools, training programs, events and other resources?in line with the communications capability program
  • Support the delivery and production of learning events and annual communications awards event
  • Assist the team in ensuring that opportunities to learn, develop and participate in peer groups are promoted and communicated to ensure participation rates are high
  • Advise on a user journey to improve member engagement and participation in the online learning hub for GovComms professionals
  • Coordinate the GovComms schedule of communications and events and monitor inquiries received in the GovComms shared inbox.

To be successful in this role, you need to have:


  • Marketing or relevant tertiary qualifications or professional experience in a communications, marketing or engagement role.
  • Comfortable learning new digital products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound stakeholder engagement and collaborative skills.
  • High level attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation, while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience or interest in data analysis, data automation, UX and marketing automation.

What we need from you:
