Howden Australia has an immediate need for an Aftermarket Service Business Development Manager.

This role reports to our Head of Aftermarket Sales and the focus is to establish and maintain business relationships with end users in NSW and promote Howden products including fans, air heaters, compressors and any Howden installed base within NSW.

The role also provides support for our workshop in Cardiff workshop and for our customers to provide on time quotations and solutions regarding Howden products installed in the region.

The Aftermarket Service Business Development Manager will liaise with all Howden departments and communicate resolution of issues to customers as needed.

The position will involve some interstate travel as required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Playing an integral part in generating sales that will turn into longlasting relationships
  • Achieving annual budget targets
  • Understanding and recording market developments and requirements of the key companies in the area.
  • Planning and execution of a sales plan for the area
  • Actively promoting and building an awareness of Howden's products strength and capabilities with the end user customers.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the decision makers within key companies.
  • Submitting monthly reports on business activities in the area, and assisting in the development of strategies to increase business levels.
  • Expanding the relationship with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions

What do you need to bring?


It is fundamental that you have Engineering degree with at least 5 years relevant experience or other technical degree with 5 years sales experience with engineering products or equivalent industry experience.


You are an experienced Business Development Manager with the ability to proactively and independently solve problems, think laterally and identify corrective actions.

You will also have demonstrated ability to achieve annual sales targets, and have good negotiation skills.


You're energetic and pro-active with a high degree of self-motivation and display a customer centric attitude and exceptional relationship building skills.

You are an excellent team player with the ability to communicate both written and verbally at all levels. You have good interpersonal and cultural assimilation skills.

The following would also be highly regarded:

  • Marketing experience.
  • Good time management.
  • Systems knowledge for power generation, cement making and oil/gas processing
