Position Overview:

We are in need of an experienced Solid Plasterer to become part of our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in solid plastering and be capable of handling a wide array of tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret plans, specifications, and blueprints to identify necessary materials and installation procedures.
  • Set up work areas by erecting scaffolding and protective measures, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Utilize both traditional and modern techniques to mix and apply plaster coats on interior walls and ceilings, achieving a flawless finish.
  • Coat exterior walls with cement-based plasters for both weatherproofing and decorative purposes.
  • Craft and implement decorative textures and finishes, encompassing ornamental plasterwork, cornices, and ceiling roses.
  • Apply reinforcing components like mesh or lath to bolster plaster coatings.
  • Restore and mend damaged plasterwork, guaranteeing consistency in texture and appearance with the original.
  • Mount pre-cast decorative plasterwork to elevate building aesthetics.
  • Measure and cut plasterboard, affixing panels to studs or joists and sealing joints effectively.
  • Perform quality assessments throughout the plastering process to ensure compliance with standards and client specifications.
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment, ensuring their optimal functionality.
  • Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of plastering methods and materials.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Physical endurance and adaptability to various working conditions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Preferably, a relevant trade qualification or certification.
