Accessibility Services Officer

  • Ongoing Part time position 0.8FTE (across five days)
  • Based in Hobart
  • Facilitate student academic success by providing high quality support

The Opportunity

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Learning and Accessibility service as required with a primary focus on Accessibility Services.
  • Manage the Accessibility Services inbox and provide timely responses to all enquiries from students, staff, and members of the community.
  • In consultation with the Accessibility Advisers, coordinate the Notetaking service including organising the recruitment, training, induction, rostering, and ongoing communication to students that are engaged with the service.
  • Assist in the collation of data and preparation of reports, including coordination of reporting requirements associated with the Disability Support Program (DSP) funds.
  • Manage the development of study resources and information sheets, ensuring they are reviewed and maintained on a regular basis.
  • Work with the Access information management system leading a range of tasks associated with the Learning Access Plan submission and approvals process.

Your Application

  • Completion of a relevant diploma qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the management of sensitive and confidential information as well as contemporary approaches to the provision of services to students with a disability or health condition (including mental health).
  • High level organisational skills including the ability to use initiative, problem solve and prioritise tasks to meet strict and competing deadlines whilst working independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to assist with research tasks and projects and a demonstrated ability for thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to relate well to a diverse range of people including those with a disability, health condition (including mental health), or those with English as a second language.

Remuneration


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $99,698 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $76,302 to $85,212 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
