The Opportunity


The Manager, Learning and Accessibility will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team of staff and student leaders, across campuses and online, who provide specialist advice to students from diverse backgrounds across areas including learning and academic skill development, accessibility, and peer assisted learning support.

The incumbent is responsible for strategic development, professional direction and supervision of the work undertaken by the team.

The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that the service delivery is informed by evidence and evaluation of the range of services and the needs of students; and is provided in a student-centric, consistent, high quality, and timely manner.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the coordination, communication and evaluation of a multidisciplinary range of learning and accessibility services that contribute to students' academic progression and success.
  • Provide expert advice to staff on best practice and contemporary student advice and support for academic success.
  • Liaise and build partnerships with Divisional and College partners to ensure academic success services are designed to be responsive to changing course and cohorts' needs.
  • Provide professional direction and maintain quality assurance in regard to supports and services provided by the team, provide professional supervision, guidance and intervention on more complex cases and ensure that professional standards and practices are maintained.
  • Provide advice and support to the Director, academic and professional staff, students and the wider University community on student related issues, policies, procedures and relevant legislation pertaining to domestic and international student support and academic success.

Your Application

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training and leadership experience in student support and academic success in higher education.
  • A passion for and understanding of factors contributing to student academic success.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a large, multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience leading the development, delivery and evaluation of a diverse range of services and programs that contribute to students' academic success.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to problem solve and thrive in a continuously changing and highly collaborative environment.

Remuneration


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 9 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $151,543 comprising base salary within the range of $122,887 to $129,524 plus 17% superannuation.
