Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Women & Children: Provide crisis response, advocacy, referrals, long-term case management, and group work for those at risk of violence.
  • Ensure Safety: Conduct risk assessments and safety planning with women experiencing violence.
  • Community Outreach: Engage in remote outreach via bush trips at least once a month.
  • Collaborate for Change: Work with the Community Development team to strengthen community capacity to end violence.
  • Foster Communication: Promote effective and respectful communication within a supportive and reflective learning culture.

Skills & Experience You Bring:

  • Qualifications: A tertiary or diploma qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field.
  • Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience working with women and families at risk of domestic and family violence, including risk assessment and safety planning.
  • Cultural Competence: An understanding of trauma-informed, holistic, and relational approaches to domestic violence service delivery, especially in Aboriginal Australian cultural contexts.
  • Cross-Cultural Skills: Strong intrapersonal and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
  • Flexibility: A current driver's licence and the ability to travel for regular bush trips.
  • Compliance: Willingness to undergo a Working with Children Check and a Police Check.
