This service is designed to support PUV to take responsibility for and stop their use of violence through individual interventions, group work and case management.

Overview of the Program and Service

The Specialist Family Violence role sits within the Men's Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) as a part of Peninsula Health's Family Violence Service (FVS) which is located within Community Health.

The Family Violence Service runs behaviour change groups (MBCP) for men who have used violent, abusive and/or controlling behaviours within the family and want to stop using these behaviours.

The safety of women and children is a priority.

As well as the men's behaviour change program (MBCP), the Family Violence Service also provides the 'Keeping Families Safe' program, for adolescents who are violent in the home.

The programs are research and evidence based and focus on assisting men to take responsibility for their behaviours, as well as the impact that these behaviours have on their families, most often their partners and children.

The MBCP Program is funded to assist clients within the Bayside Peninsula Catchment area who are voluntarily seeking support to stop using violent behaviour in their family relationships.

The FVS works in collaboration with other agencies in the Bayside Peninsula as part of the Victorian State-wide Integrated Response to Family Violence.

The MBCP operates in accordance with Standards set by Family Safety Victoria and No To Violence guidelines for men's behaviour change work
