  • The function supports leadership and management in identifying, assessing, and evaluating risk, which is reported to the Board and Executive Leadership for governance and oversight.
  • The Group Risk Manager reports to the Chief Risk and Assurance Offer (as part of a broader 'Internal Audit and Risk Assurance' team) and manages a Risk Assurance Specialist (1.0FTE)

Core responsibilities include:
-
Enterprise risk program leadership:Lead the design and execution of the enterprise-wise risk management program (as part of an annual plan). This includes understanding and responding to the organisation's needs to grow its risk maturity and support its strategy.
-
Facilitate risk management - facilitate the review of current risks and develop new risk profiles with leadership. This includes running risk workshops and regular reviews with risk and action owners.
-
Systems and processes - designing and implementing organisational risk management framework improvements to ensure contemporary and meaningful practices.
-
Education and awareness - running organisation-wide awareness activities to support a positive risk culture and embed risk management practices into business-as-usual activities.
-
Advisory - risk and control leadership through participation in governance committees, reporting on emerging risks and providing expert guidance to senior leaders. Regular presentations to Board and Board subcommittees are required.
-
Control testing - validation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the key controls implemented by management, as required.

  • This role requires strong stakeholder engagement developing strong working relationships with MH Managers, Leaders and Directors to implement and maintain sustainable, systematic and disciplined risk management approaches.
  • This is a fulltime (76 hrs a fortnight), 12month fixedterm position (with potential for permanent) based from our Richmond Office with hybrid working arrangements (3 days onsite; 2 days WFH) available. Please note that the role requires 510% national travel.

ABOUT YOU:

  • We seek a proven leader with demonstrable success within a complex, diverse and evolving environment. If you are a selfstarter, able to juggle competing priorities, a good problem solver and great with people we want to hear from you
  • You will hold extensive experience and demonstrated competency in:
  • Highly desirable: Tertiary and/or industry qualifications in commerce or business management.
  • Desirable: Member of a relevant professional association or institute e.g. Risk Management Institute of Australia, Institute of Internal Auditors, Chartered Accountants Australia, Certified Internal Auditor
  • High degree of familiarity in the health and / or aged care sectors (not mandatory).
  • Experience in managing a risk program
