Be responsible for assisting in the planning, delivery, monitoring and reporting on fuel management programs for the District with a particular focus on the Grasslands Reserves located to the west and north of Melbourne.

The position reports to the Fire Management Planning Coordinator - Western grasslands.

Fire Management Program Officer - Western will requires a person with demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of fuel management operations, someone who is a good communicator and can work constructively with partner agencies, stakeholders and landholders to implement tenure blind fuel management strategies in the Metropolitan District.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management or approved equivalent is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in fuel management or land management programs is desirable.
This is a fixed term position available for a period until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is Metro District with hybrid work arrangements available.
