The Role

You will join an energetic and passionate team of Event Planners who are responsible for coordinating and working with clients to create bold and memorable experiences for all types of events from simple business meetings to our signature #LivingGrand experiences.


Please be aware that this is a parental leave cover role - for 10 months.

Day to Day

  • To liaise with allocated event planners in order to coordinate all aspects of their program and ensure the best possible results, thereby achieving the department's objectives and targets as set out in the annual business plan. To maximise revenue for food and beverage and upsell at all opportunities to generate additional revenue.
  • To manage residential M.I.C.E. and events groups as allocated by the Director of Event Planning and all events as required and generate future business from existing clients, from hand over to departure, with a focus on relationship maintenance.
  • To manage short lead team and all business requests received within 30 days of arrival, in both the contracting and execution phase.
  • To complete tasks pertaining to the overall operation of the department, and support the team as a key leader.
  • To manage and coordinate, from confirmation to departure, large events (M.I.C.E. / Social / Groups).
  • To generate future business from existing clients, and actively assist in the rebooking process.
  • Compilation and distribution of the event function sheets and floor plans.
  • To maximize revenue for the Food & Beverage & Rooms Divisions and upsell at all opportunities to generate additional revenue.
  • To complete tasks pertaining to the overall operation of the department.
  • To ensure there is a strong focus on customer relationship development, maintenance and assistance with feedback and complaints

Qualifications:

What we are looking for?

  • Team orientated with demonstrated competence in effective people leadership.
  • Strong market knowledge.
  • Proven experience being client focused whilst balancing business expectations and standards.
  • Proven experience driving revenue once events are confirmed.
  • Experience with achieving compliance guidelines so that client files are managed in line with financial audits.
  • Ideally with a relevant degree, apprenticeship or diploma in Hospitality or restaurant management.
  • Previous experience within a fivestar hotel or deluxe meeting venue.
  • Extensive knowledge of event service operations.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationship with internal and external customer.
  • Computer skills in MS Office and outlook essential, Opera/Envision EMS/RESERVE are desired.
  • Previous reservation/Front Office experience would be advantageous.
