Position summary
Are you looking to kick-start your Work Health Safety career working on one of Sydney's Major Road projects? Our Infrastructure projects team has been awarded the upgrade of Sydney's Warringah Freeway project.
The billion-dollar design and construction project will see the Warringah Freeway extended from the northern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Willoughby Road.
The project will ease traffic congestion and provide new motorway connections, which will help Sydney cope with population growth and increased transport demands.
THE ROLE
Delivery
Review Subcontractor Safety Interview Questionnaires and verify the capability of the subcontractor to deliver the required work task to agreed safety standards.
Enter and extract data from incident management system.
Prepare and update all required Project Safety Plans and Registers.
Enter and extract data from incident management system.
Provision of SH support
Safety, Heath, Environment, Quality
Personal awareness and understanding of the Project's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality requirements
Immediately report any injury, incident or "near miss" encountered during the course of work
Support and follow relevant SHEQ procedures, programs and initiatives
Support and contribute to SHEQ performance within area of responsibility
Demonstrate commitment to SHEQ through personal example and participation
Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality and Environment performance and challenge non-compliant behaviours in a direct and timely manner.
Encourage a healthy environment on the Project by supporting health and wellbeing initiatives
ABOUT YOU
Advanced Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. Tertiary (Bachelor) degree in Safety, Environmental, Project Management, Building, Construction)
1-2 years' experience in a similar role
Experience within the rail, transport, construction, mining & resources or engineering industries (project experience) highly regarded
Knowledge of Safety & Rehabilitation Management Systems
Knowledge of WHS legislative requirements and all Australian Standards relating to relevant scope of works.
Knowledge of auditing, safety inspections and compliance reporting procedures and processes.
Understanding of technology to support Safety systems.
Knowledge of Incident Management and reporting involving multiple internal and external parties.
