SC4 Demonstrated capacity to lead and represent CWSC in Disability Inclusion Profile Meetings and SSGs, with capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff inlcuding the Disability Inclusion Regional Implementation Team.

SC5 Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff in respect to the work area.

SC6 Demonstrated commitment to, and experience in inclusive education and a capacity to work with the school community to develop a school culture which celebrates diversity and inclusivity.

Role:

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school.

Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.


Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.


An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.

Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead contact for Disability Inclusion Profiles within their school, for example for the Disability Inclusion Regional Implementation Team
  • Promote the implementation of all elements of Disability Inclusion Profiles at the school
  • Register students who require a profile meeting and ensure that all paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Respond to any requests from facilitators for additional information
  • Ensure Disability Inclusion profile meetings are booked for all students who require profile meetings
  • Support school staff and the SSG to prepare and gather supporting information for Disability Inclusion profile meetings
  • Liaise with the school's Student Support Services key contact as required
  • Where required, support the most appropriate school staff to prepare the student and parent(s)/carer(s) to contribute to Disability Inclusion profile meetings
  • Ensure the establishment of student support groups (SSGs) for all students who may benefit from a Disability Inclusion profile meeting.

Cranbourne West Secondary College abuts rapidly growing residential areas in the suburb of Cranbourne.

The school will work in partnership with the community to provide authentic learning opportunities and best academic and personal outcomes for all students.

Cranbourne West Secondary College is the latest addition of a new secondary school in the rapidly growing suburb of Cranbourne opening as of January 2021 with 198 Year 7 enrolments.

Currently the College has 462 students across Year 7 and 8 and is anticipated to grow beyond 700 students in 2023.

Neighbouring schools are relatively large and Cranbourne West Secondary College is expected to grow quickly to meet residents' demand for excellence in education, consistent with the vision for the Education State.
