Role:

The successful applicant will be working with the support of Principal Class, in our College's Disability Inclusion department
with a full time administrative focus including but not limited to:

  • To coordinate the administration and support of students in the area of Inclusion, including Special Provision, across the College as directed by the Learning Support Leader and Assistant Principal
  • To coordinate PSD and DI profiles for the Junior Sub School
  • The transition from PSD (Programs for Students with Disabilities) to DI (Disability Inclusion), including coordinating the DIP (Disability Inclusion Profile), including coordinating the DIP (Disability Inclusion Profile) process
  • Being the direct point of contact between the College and our DI students, families and care teams where applicable
  • The use of NCCD (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data) and College achievement, wellbeing and attendance data to support our DI students.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Learning Support Leader to develop, implement and evaluate the College Inclusion and Disability programs
  • Support the rollout of the new Disability Inclusion Funding and Support program (DIFS) whilst transitioning from Program for Students with Disability (PSD)
  • Support the Learning Support Leader to develop individual education plans and reporting of their progress (including School Level Report Data)
  • Oversee Student Support Group (SSG) meetings, case management and targeted intervention and support Sub-School Leaders and relevant staff to convene SSG meetings each term for each student who has an IEP
  • Provide support to students and parents involved in the program
  • Provide support to teachers of students requiring adjusted programs to ensure the delivery of an equitable and accessible educational program
  • Liaise with Wellbeing, Curriculum and Teaching & Learning Leaders as necessary
  • Liaise with external providers: visiting teachers, psychologists, speech pathologists, Statewide Vision as required
  • Assist students individually or in small groups in specific learning areas as required
  • Assist in the preparation of student resources to allow equity and access for all
  • Foster positive engagement of students in the classroom
  • Provide basic/attendant care and advocacy for students
  • Participate in team meetings and provide collegiate support
  • Be aware of and comply with College and DET priorities, policies and procedures

Diamond Valley College is a mid-sized secondary school that lies on the northern urban fringe of Melbourne.

As such, it caters for students that live in the suburban areas of Diamond Creek, Hurstbridge and Doreen and those that live in smaller rural communities including Kinglake, St Andrews, Panton Hill, Wattle Glen, Kangaroo Ground, Arthurs Creek and Strathewen.
