Digital, Technology and Data?
The purpose of Digital, Technology and Data is to design, build and maintain products, services and experiences that Australian's love and trust, while delivering a sustainable future for Australia Post.
The key areas that Customer Experience and Digital Technology is responsible for include Customer Experience, Customer Services, Decipha, Identity and Financial Services, Digital Channels, Data Science, Data Commercialisation, Product Engineering and Platforms, as well as Technology.
Position Purpose:
A hands-on technical role that is accountable for designing, delivering and running Database Services for the Australia Post Group on premise or through public cloud providers including the provision and management of the specific technical service.
Delivery focus may include RFC's (Minor Works), estimations, design and development work to time, budget and quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards.
Overall responsibility for ensuring service delivery meets the agreed business demand at the quality required, delivers business value in a cost effective and timely manner and that the service provided fulfils the requirements of the Australia Post Group.
What we're looking for
- _Extensive experience in managing large, complex and critical Operational IT environments in a 24/7 capacity._
- _Demonstrated experience in Database technology in both on premise and Cloud environments._
- _Must be an expert in one or more service. technologies i.e. Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, RDB with proven operational history in a second or more._
- _Demonstrated experience of automation toolsets i.e. Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform._
- _Must have in depth knowledge and hands on experience in Highly Available database solutions e.g. Oracle RAC, MSSQL Always On or Clusters._
_What will I be doing in this role?_
- Responsible for the management and evolution of Australia Post Group's Database Services.
- Creates and implements practical, flexible detailed designs ensuring they meet the business requirements and remain aligned to the technology roadmap and highlevel design created by architects.
- Undertakes and ensures that the system designs balance functional, service quality and systems management requirements.
- Contributes to the selection of appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively.
- Drives continuous performance improvement by measuring, categorising and tracking progress of issues.
