This role includes the development and design of database strategies, improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements.

The Role

  • Manage Oracle databases through physical and logical design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Set up and maintain database environments, including development, testing, and production systems.
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
  • Apply patches and upgrade database versions.
  • Develop, implement, and test backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to database systems, procedures, and configurations.
  • Document database design, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain database performance and capacity plans.
  • Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver IT projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database technologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Highly experienced Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong upgrade, backup/recovery, automation scripting experience.
  • Cloud experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SQL and MySQL.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
