Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to become an integral part of our North American IT operations team. In this role, you will oversee the management of both production and non-production database environments. Your expertise will be crucial in configuring, optimizing, and maintaining SQL Server database systems across diverse settings. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to implement software improvements and ensure our operational teams achieve the high availability and performance our clients expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and sustain SQL Server databases in both production and non-production environments.
  • Deliver expert-level support and troubleshooting to resolve performance challenges and rectify issues.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and scripts tailored to the needs of clients and colleagues.
  • Engage in the engineering and design processes to enhance system functionality and introduce new features.
  • Collaborate with security and risk management teams to uphold the highest standards of platform security.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents and issues, with occasional after-hours work required.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for innovative thinkers who can drive meaningful change and demonstrate a proactive approach. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Extensive experience with SQL Server and T-SQL at a senior level.
  • A strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly CI/CD principles as they relate to database design.
  • A passion for automation, with familiarity in tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Octopus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • A keen attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A strong focus on data integrity, business continuity, and risk management.
  • 5+ years of professional experience managing SQL Server databases in a dynamic, high-availability environment.
