The State Library of Western Australia plays a key role in empowering Western Australian individuals and communities, transforming their lives by connecting them to information and ideas. It also delivers a wide range of services, programs , and events to inspire creativity, curiosity and support lifelong learning.

The Better Beginnings Family Literacy Program is the State Library of W estern Australia's award - winning initiative , providing exemplary early literacy services to families since 2004. The State Library of Western Australia develops and manages Better Beginnings a n d delivers the program through public libraries, child health nurses and kindergartens.

We have a fixed-term, full-time (75hrs per fortnight) position available for from August 2024 to December 2026. The position is based in the Pilbara region.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated individual to coordinate t o lead and deliver the implementation of the Better Beginnings initiative to support the inclusive and equitable delivery of the Better Beginnings Family Literacy Program with a particular focus on Aboriginal and CALD families across Western Australia . This includes the incorporation of Aboriginal languages and culturally r elevant early literacy resources into the program, and the provision of training and support in remote, regional and metropolitan centres.
