About The Role


Our high quality security service is responsible to not only provide patients, visitors, staff with an environment which affords individual physical safety, and also the safeguarding of Monash Health property and emergency responses.


About You

  • Previous experience as a Security Officer (ideally within a hospital/health setting)
  • Code (black, grey etc) response participation requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current emergency response including the operation of fire panels, OWS and EWIS panels
  • Proven ability to negotiate and resolve conflict situations
  • Multiple site/locations and multi shift line availabilities required
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills to enable you to prepare incident and other reports to meet Police and legal requirements.
To be successful in obtaining this role, you will need to have:

  • Current Victorian Security Guard and Crowd Controller Licence
  • Certificate III in Security Operations Unarmed Guarding and Crowd Control
OR Certificate II - Unarmed Guard and Crowd Control

  • Current open or provisional Victorian Drivers Licence

Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status.

The current orders require evidence of three doses for COVID-1- Selection Criteria

  • Do you currently hold a Certificate III in Security Operations PRS30103 (Unarmed Guarding & Crowd Control) or an equivalent CPP07 Certificate II qualification (Unarmed Guarding & Crowd Control)?
  • Are you a Licensed Security Officer and Crowd Controller with a current Victorian Security Licence?
  • Do you have a current Victorian Drivers Licence to operate a car? (open licence or provisional is acceptable
  • Do you have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including an ability to speak English clearly and write English legibly?
  • Do you have a background in hospital based security and are you able to provide at least TWO (2) work references from current or previous employers relating to hospital based security?
  • It is a condition of employment that all Monash Health employees must undergo a police check and a clear result must be in place before commencing work. The police check is funded & conducted by Monash Health. Please acknowledge & agree to this essential criteria
  • Can you provide evidence that you have a demonstrated knowledge, in a previous role, of primary emergency response, including the operation of Fire Panels, OWS panels and EWIS panels?
  • Do have experience in the following aspects of hospital based security? Electronic security systems (access control and CCTV), two way radio systems, conflict resolution and negotiation, mortuary duties and a demonstrated ability to control persons that may be violent or aggressive.
  • Security at Monash Health consists of various sites and shifts, and that you may be required to rotate through all Monash Health sites and areas within the site (e.g. Mental Health, Wards, Emergency Department and the Security Office) as and where directed to do so. Please acknowledge & agree
