About the role

We are excited to announce that we are on the lookout for Delivery Lead – OBI Software to join our team located in our Welshpool office, working with a collaborative and friendly team from Mondays to Fridays.

As the Delivery Lead for the Orebody Intelligence (OBI) group at our software company, you play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of software releases. You are responsible for managing the release velocity and quality of our products, overseeing a small team of software engineers, and making valuable contributions to software development. Your leadership is essential in driving efficient and high-quality releases, while also providing guidance and support to your team members. Your expertise and dedication are instrumental in achieving our goals and delivering exceptional software solutions to our customers.

What you will be doing

  • Ensuring a regular and high-quality flow of releases across the Orebody Intelligence product suite – principally the Axis / Geospatial stream at time of hiring but will include other OBI products with time;
  • Line management of OBI software team to ensure team resources and individual capabilities are appropriately deployed towards product delivery;
  • Sets standards for CI/CD & release practices in OBI software function;
  • Ensuring that OBI software performance meets & exceeds the needs of the market;
  • Writing code and mentoring the development team on coding best practices;
  • Designing robust application architectures and automated testing strategies;
  • Balance team leadership with individual contributions to create a high-performing and respectful environment within the software team;
  • Communications with wider OBI business: Product owners, Program managers & OBI management.

What you will bring

  • Software Engineering or other relevant degree plus at least 5 years experience;
  • Experience working with software that interacts with industrial hardware;
  • Exposure to extractive industries; mining / mineral exploration preferred but not essential;
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery across global organisations, with or without reporting line accountability;
  • Mobile application development experience for B2B / industrial custiomers;
  • Experience with dot net, python & flutter viewed favourably.
