About the role:


The Project Support Officer sits within the Cancer Control Policy Division and provides effective secretariat support to Cancer Council's national policy advisory committees and their sub-committees.

The Project Officer also provides project support to a range of policy projects.

The Project Support Officer has well-developed organisational and communication skills, can multitask, and is proactive and is passionate about working for a leading charity that makes a difference to people affected by cancer.

The role best suits someone with an understanding of public health policy.

In this role you will:

  • Provide secretariat support to national policy advisory committees, including organising meetings, coordinating papers and agendas, taking minutes, maintaining accurate records, assisting members to access meetings and resources, coordinating travel as needed, and maintaining organisational records.
  • Work closely with the Cancer Control Policy team members to support policy submissions and policy development, completing assigned components and supporting progress.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders.
