The company

A household name of Australian finance & insurance. Based in the CBD, they have an excellent workplace culture, and continue to run a healthy 3 WFH: 2 CBD hybrid workplace.

The role

Like many companies they are tackling a major cybersecurity uplift. A lot of the policies have been devised, this is about putting them into place.

In terms of their server environment that means:

  • Server hardening
  • Zero Trust implementation
  • A password remediation program

They are largely a Windows/VMWare environment. Much of it in AWS, but some still on prem. They also run a decent amount of Red Hat Linux.

So they are looking for someone who can handle much of the hands on work. So a seasoned system engineer who knows Windows, knows AWS, knows VM and has a good understanding of cybersecurity. You almost certainly will have handled server hardening and implemented zero trust systems. They don't need someone who can create & draft cybersecurity policy, but they definitely want someone who can help shape it and ensure who is put it place is workable.
