Role Overview


This newly created role is a great next step in your IT support and security journey, and ideal if you thrive on seeing the fruit of your work transform the way we do business.

We're looking for an IT Support and Security specialist to take ownership over the internal technical operations of various systems and platforms, to improve internal IT efficiency, to work with all different teams across our business to ensure they have the tools to do their jobs better, and to always have an eye on process and systems improvement opportunities across the organisation.


What your day may include:

  • Security Officer related tasks, including (but not limited to):
  • Assume overall responsibility for the security of Sensei's IT framework.
  • Identify potential vulnerabilities in our current IT infrastructure.
  • Work with key team members in the business (including the Product Development Team Lead, Client Care Manager and GM
  • Operations) to develop and implement a comprehensive plan to secure our IT infrastructure.
  • Keep up to date with developments in IT security standards and threats.
  • Review and update Sensei's Information Security Policy (and other related policy documents) on a minimum yearly basis.
  • Education of colleagues about security and best practices relating to IT security.
  • Understand the fundamentals of our internal systems (e.g. our Project Management software tool, our D365 instance, etc.) and our external systems providers (e.g. Xero, Elmo, etc.)
  • Take on ownership of all internal Sensei IT tickets.
  • Work through these in a thoughtful, pragmatic fashion
  • Work towards SLAs established with the business.
  • Ensure that our offices are well appointed with appropriate levels of network infrastructure.
  • Address any devicerelated queries from the Sensei team.
  • Onboarding and offboarding procedures as they relate to IT (set up user IDs, assign/manage licences, new device acquisition and setup, close down procedures, etc.).
  • Contribute thoughts to relevant policy reviews (i.e. IS Policy, Privacy Policy, BCPs, etc.)
  • Run induction for new starters (minimum monthly basis) outlining their responsibilities as it pertains to information security.
  • Have an awareness and understanding of Sensei's approach to Microsoft licencing.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 2-3 years' experience as an IT Support specialist or Application Support specialist.
  • An understanding of a range of Microsoft products.
  • A suitable level of IT security knowledge and experience.
  • High proficiency in helpdesk support principles, prioritisation and meeting SLAs.
  • An eye for detail and a curiosity to make things better.
