We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Administrative and Research Study Coordinator to join the Cutaneous Lymphoma Team at Peter MacCallum.

The key objective of the Administrative and Research Study Officer is to provide support to the clinical team and manage the cutaneous lymphoma database with accurate and timely data collection and entry. The candidate will also need to be proficient or able to navigate through reinventing the Cutaneous Lymphoma Database to reflect current patient population and service needs.

You will oversee the Cutaneous Lymphoma Database and associated databases, a critical component for clinical audits, clinical research and publications activities undertaken within the department. The main responsibilities of the Administrative and Research Study Coordinator include data collection, data management, adhering to ethics and governance processes and supporting clinicians with clinical research. The Research administrative and Study Coordinator will also assist the clinical leads of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Service with evaluating and analysing the data housed within the database for research purposes and for auditing of service quality.

The administrative duties will include co-ordinating the weekly clinics, monthly histopathology clinics, the fortnightly virtual e-Grand Rounds and other multi-disciplinary meetings.

The successful candidate will be required to attend the weekly clinics which run on a Friday Morning. We are open to flexible working arrangements outside of this time for the right candidate.

This positions is:

12 month fixed term position
- 64 hours/fortnight

  • A degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Information Management or equivalent

Key Accountabilities

Data collection, management and quality

  • Redevelop the cutaneous lymphoma database to reflect current patient population and service needs
  • Development of systems and processes to collect data
  • Obtain data for entry into database in a timely manner
  • Maintain up to date data by developing systems for following up patient relevant patients in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities and gaps in relation to data
  • Support data linkage with internal and external databases or registries
  • Maintain integrity of information in the database
  • Proactively seeks innovative ways to improve data management functions
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings
  • ensure no breaches of patient or departmental confidentiality
  • Manage SOPs as applicable
  • Ensure compliance with data collection per institutional policies
  • All requirements for ethical committee submissions of new data collection protocols are met in the designated timeline

Data analysis and reporting

  • Conduct data analysis based on the clinical database for reporting purposes
  • Continually improve the integrity of data management activities
  • Develop reports to monitor and evaluate service delivery and quality
  • Participate in clinical research monitoring/auditing internally and externally as required
  • Work effectively with research and clinical trial project manager and clinical staff during monitoring of clinical audits and external reviews

Effectively conduct clinical research

  • Conducts clinical research projects focusing on interrogating the datasets housed within the database
  • Prioritise research projects to meet the required timeline
  • Ensure clinical research is conduct in accordance with TGA, ICH, GCP and the NHMRC National Statement on ethical conduct in research involving humans
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures
  • Practice at all times within current appropriate state and federal regulations and hospital policies
