a Health Management Consultant within our Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team, part of our People and Culture business unit.
Your opportunity
As a Health Management Consultant, you will work collaboratively as a member of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team to coordinate and oversee the delivery of best practice rehabilitation and health management services to support colleagues with work related and non-work-related health and wellbeing matters.
Along with proving proactive injury management support to ensure positive outcomes are seen for our colleagues and the business the role will be to deliver rehabilitation support that meets legislative and compliance obligations, including Comcare self-licence requirements.
About the role
- Action incoming HSW requests by providing personalised and strategic advice to colleagues and People Leaders about physical and psychological injury / illness management and wellbeing.
- Proactively manage a caseload of physical and psychological health cases, including coordination of referrals to Occupational Rehabilitation Providers where appropriate.
- Triage and prioritise your caseload dependent on requests for support from the business.
- Work collaboratively with HSW Consultants and the Workers Compensation Claims team to ensure a strategic and coordinated approach to prevention, illness/injury management and proactive claims management.
- Operate within SRC Act legislation, as Rehabilitation Delegate.
- Be a trusted advisor to the business and proactively identify and communicate insights and trends to enable physical and psychosocial risks to be proactively managed.
- Manage stakeholder relationships via consultation, influencing and negotiation to drive and implement timely and positive health outcomes for our colleagues.
What you will bring
- Minimum 3 years plus experience in an Occupational Rehabilitation environment (or similar), ideally with a commercial acumen in an enterprisewide business.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in
Allied Health e.g., Psychology (including organisational psychology), Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Ex Physiology, Social Work, - Demonstrated experience with workers compensation claims under State based legislation or Comcare
- Have excellent consulting and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate with influence at all levels of the organisation (both verbally and in writing)
- Be able to think laterally and strategically with high level of assessment and problemsolving skills.
- Demonstrate empathy, resilience, and sound judgement
- Strong team player who is willing to go above and beyond to support the team in all aspects of the work
