NOPSEMA (the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority) is the regulator for Australia's offshore energy industry overseeing the safe and environmentally responsible management of offshore petroleum and renewable energy activities in Commonwealth waters.
We are currently seeking to fill the role of Legal Counsel and Internal Audit Officer within the Legal and Risk Team.
About the role
This role will undertake integrated risk and audit functions, will provide legal advice in relation to NOPSEMA's operations and will act as an authorised officer in the making _Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth)_ decisions.
- Demonstrated experience working in integrated risk and audit environment, leading internal audits and reviews, supporting development and implementation of internal audit programs.
- Experience in providing high quality and timely legal advice in regulatory environment, interpreting Acts and regulations, administrative law, regulatory enforcement and experience in preparing and reviewing complex legal documents including administrative decisions, enforcement notices and search warrants etc.
