The Opportunity
· Part time role (4 days per week)

· Casemix including: Medical, General Surgical, Oncology, Gastroenterology, Bariatric, ICU, Rehabilitation, Urology and Gynaecology
Sunnybank Private Hospital is seeking a part time, experienced Clinical Coder for an on-going role. Working within the Health Information Services Department, this role is dedicated to quality clinical coding, working closely with clinicians to clarify documentation in line with monthly data deadlines.
- Abstracting relevant information from the patient record (paper based).
- Assign accurate ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes and perform Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) grouping.
- Initiate clinical documentation queries as required to clarify documentation and support code assignment.
About You
You will be an experienced Clinical Coder who is able to code, on average 5 – 8 episodes per hour. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, have excellent attention to detail and good communication skills. You will be experienced in identifying discrepancies between clinical information systems and patient records and feedback through the appropriate channels.
To be successful in your application, you will:
- Have obtained a nationally recognised certificate in ICD-10-AM Coding and Classification
- Experience in coding using ICD-10-AM, ACHI & ACS
- Experience using 3M Codefinder & Turbocoder
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
