As a result we have a leadership opportunity for a
Business Group Leader to continue driving relationships with key clients and the capabilities of our established
Sydney Roads Team .

This role is suitable for an industry-leading professional who cultivates client relationships, develops and leads teams, with the ability to deliver on major projects.


By joining GHD, you will become part of a strong and connected Roads team with national and global reach backed by a connected network of thousands of inspired and diverse people with unique technical skills.

Working with our Operations Manager, multi-disciplinary leadership group and broader internal network, this pivotal position is your opportunity to lead a passionate, technically renowned team within a global consultancy and will see you:

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with government and private sector clients and across GHD.
  • Lead and manage the Roads Business Group and manage performance, people, and resources.
  • Develop and achieve our business plan objectives and targets aligned with GHD's Make It Real strategy.
  • Build a strong business development and winning work culture, with effective positioning and pursuit of large and strategic opportunities and expanding GHD's presence and market share.
  • Lead the technical and commercial direction on significant projects, identifying and creating business opportunities and effectively managing risks.
  • Develop and mentor a talented team of civil engineers, geometric designers, flooding and drainage engineers and project and design managers.
  • Drive a safety culture throughout the business and across our projects.

What would you bring to the team?

  • Engaging and motivating people skills backed by strategic problemsolving capabilities.
  • A relevant degree qualification in Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Commercially astute with strong project delivery experience, including providing support to Project Directors and Project Managers to deliver outstanding client experiences coupled with both technical and commercial performance on projects.
  • Passionately innovative, with a drive to continuously evolve the way we work to deliver successful outcomes for our clients.
  • High level market awareness and business development skills with a strong focus on client engagement and ideally a wellestablished network of relationships across potential clients.
  • You are a hardworking, supportive and motivating leader able to get the best out of their team and comfortable with mentoring and technical supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and people management skills.
