Data Governance Analyst

The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for assisting the Data Governance Manager to develop, implement and embed data governance across Swinburne.
The role will partner with a wide range of stakeholders across the university to support coordination and execution of the data governance program of work and related projects that support improvement in data governance and management practices, processes and uptake/compliance.
This role will assist the Data Governance Manager to lead the coordination of all organisation-wide data governance activities adopting an enterprise approach in developing and implementing policies to improve the quality and manage the protection of data to support business decision making.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Assist with the operationalisation and management of Swinburne's enterprise data governance program of work/roadmap
- Assist with the operationalisation of the Data Compliance Taskforce program of work to improve enterprisewide disposal and protection of data, to mitigate the risk of data breach incidents and to meet compliance obligations including the Data Catalogue Proof of Concept and staged implementation rollout projects. Priority will be the Data Defence pilot relating to Medical Centre data and records.
- Assist the Director, Strategic Planning and the Data Governance Manager with managing/coordinating, developing, implementing and maintaining data governance program activities and projects including:
- Enterprise Business Glossary and Data Catalogue (core enterprise functionalities that also support Data Defence Taskforce).
- Implementation of a Master Data Management Plan across prioritised data domains.
- Data quality improvement activities including targeted assessments and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science/IT, Statistics or a related discipline with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or
