We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Analyst to join our Cloud Analytics and Data Platforms Technology team. As a Data Governance Analyst, you will play a critical role in transforming our data governance capabilities across AGL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute data governance initiatives and projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project plans.
- Collaborate with data stewards and business units to define and enforce data ownership, responsibilities, and accountability throughout the data lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing data governance processes, methodologies, and frameworks to drive continuous improvement and meet evolving business needs.
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues, collaborating with IT support, data analysts, data governance team, and other business areas.
- Ensure alignment of data governance activities with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data governance policies, guidelines and technologies to ensure analysis, reporting, evaluation, and research activities comply with legislative and regulatory requirements and align with data governance best practices.
- Assist in Developing and deliver training programs and workshops to promote data governance awareness, understanding, and adoption across AGL.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role that has supported or led complex data governance programs and initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data mapping and data structures.
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data management practices, data quality best practices and industry standards.
- Experience with data governance tools such as Purview, Collibra, Informatica Axon, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, such as DAMA-DMBOK.
- Exposure to cloud environments i.e. MS Azure and APIs (desirable).
