You will be required to work on a rotating roster system with a spread of hours between 6.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday.

Some weekend work may be required.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Undertake patrols of Council's beaches, reserves and other public spaces to detect offences under the Companion Animals Act 1998;
  • Gather sufficient evidence of offences under Local Government Act, 1993; Companion Animals Act, 1997; Roads Act, 1993; The Australian Road Rules; Impounding Act, 1993; Protection of the Environment Operations Act, 1997 and Regulations to allow for appropriate action to be taken;
  • Patrol public places to detect, control and/or prevent obstructions or unlawful activities.

  • You are experienced in Ranger duties, policing or similar regulatory position with relevant qualifications, eg Certificate IV qualification in Local Government (Regulatory Services);
  • You enjoy working both as part of a team and autonomously and take pride in undertaking your duties in a professional and consistent manner;
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise, while also learning from others;
  • Having a work/life balance is important to you

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Police Check before commencement of employment.
