Vice President, Program Finance Position at AIR

AIR is looking for an experienced Vice President, Program Finance to join our dynamic team. This key position plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing all client-facing financial functions at AIR. The Vice President will contribute to AIR's financial strategy, ensuring strong compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. Joining as the Vice President, Program Finance offers a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned financial leader to significantly impact AIR's financial health and strategic direction, all in support of advancing evidence and improving lives.

This role allows for a hybrid work setup from any of AIR's U.S. office locations and may involve travel as required.

Responsibilities
  • Client-Facing Financial Leadership: Oversee and lead financial support for AIR's client- and internally-funded projects, including audits, financial reviews, and negotiations. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and manage a team responsible for financial management and accounting.
  • Project Management: Ensure effective financial processes throughout project lifecycles, from setup to closeout. Enhance project budgeting and forecasting systems to align with best practices.
  • Business Development Support: Develop financial pricing policies, advise on financial strategies for proposals, and lead operational efforts in foreign countries.
  • Strategic Financial Planning: Provide business and risk management advice, contribute to financial planning and analysis, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership in Mergers, Acquisitions, and Business Combinations: Advise on strategic financial decisions related to mergers and acquisitions, lead due diligence efforts, and oversee post-close integration.
  • Team Development and Management: Mentor and develop the program finance team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative work environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and government requirements, managing financial risks associated with projects and operations.
  • Benchmarking and Continuous Process Improvement: Benchmark financial processes, policies, and systems, identify and implement process improvements.
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Considerations: Stay updated on ESG trends and integrate relevant considerations into financial decision-making.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are desirable.
  • Extensive experience in financial leadership roles with a strong track record in financial management and strategic decision-making at a global organization.
  • Deep knowledge of nonprofit sector, federal, state, foundation, commercial, and international funding mechanisms, with expertise in financial regulations like FAR, AIDAR, and GAAP.
  • Proven experience in managing diverse portfolios of contracts and grants, project budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in mergers, acquisitions, due diligence, and post-close integration.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills with the ability to provide financial insights to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and technology, commitment to process improvement, and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, adapt to challenges, and collaborate effectively in virtual settings.
