As the Inflight Operations Manager, your role will be critical in developing and executing the Inflight Strategy optimising both sales revenue and the onboard customer experience.

The role is instrumental in the design of inflight specifications for new aircraft and will support the Qantas Group Sustainability Agenda by leading the program of work to deliver recycling onboard.

Responsibilities will also include managing external vendors in the delivery of day-to-day operational catering, crew meals and cleaning requirements across the network

Reporting to the Head of Customer Experience, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Define, develop and execute the Inflight Strategy having regard to the Ancillary Growth strategy, Technology advancements and evolution of LCC inflight offerings
  • Working collaboratively with Catering Provider, Ancillary Revenue team and frontline leaders to maximise sales on board revenue, ensuring optimised product availability
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify and implement opportunities to optimise service in the cabin (inc review of Business Class Service Proposition and the delivery of Tap n Go payments)
  • Manage Catering/Crew Meal/Cleaning Vendors in the provision of day-to-day operational catering/cleaning requirements, acting as escalation point where required
  • Manage the inflight team in the delivery of the inflight strategy and day to day operational requirements
  • Manage the safety and operational KPI's against the contract with the 3rd party catering provider
To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Recent management experience leading a team
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and plan commercial programs of work
  • Strong consultation skills and ability to interact with all levels of an organisation
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and strategic focus
  • Exceptional influencing, negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Experience in managing complex and tightly time-framed projects with limited resources
  • Prior experience in Cabin Crew Operations will be highly regarded but not essential
