About the role


We are seeking a values driven After Hours Support Worker who will provide effective support to Participants ensuring a safe and structured environment is maintained in accordance with TSA guidelines, within a Participant lead recovery-based service.

You will successfully

  • Participants accessing the service are provided with a welcoming and responsive initial contact and urgent and immediate needs are addressed
  • In consultation with more senior worker/s appropriate preventative action is taken in relation to potential highrisk situations
  • Facilitation of daily activities and programs, which may include social activities, Spirit Lifter, information groups
  • Information is provided to assist in assessing and addressing participant issues, needs and circumstances
  • Effective relationships are established with participants that encourage selfdetermination and participation and support them to improve their situation
  • As directed, support is provided to participants to implement case plans in accordance with the TSA model of care and practice
  • Participants are actively encouraged to engage in the implementation of case plans
  • Participants are assisted to access support services
  • Activity risk assessments and mitigation strategies are developed and communicated to management
  • Activities are monitored and clearly communicated to relevant staff for handover
  • Other tasks as required, which may include, light cleaning, preparing rooms for new participants, transporting participants to appointments.
  • Accurate, up to date participant records and data is maintained for all participants in accordance with TSA standards and procedures
  • Risks to participants, staff and TSA are identified and bought to the attention of relevant supervisor as soon as possible
  • Appropriate preventative action is taken to address workplace hazards as per TSA procedure
  • Incidents are reported in the required format/s as per TSA and funding body procedures
  • Service gaps are identified and recommendations for service delivery improvements are made
This is a permanent, part-time (22.8hrs per week) position located in Gold Coast, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS award level 3.

You will have

  • Relevant certificate to the work performed and;
  • Previous experience in relevant industry, and/or on the job training
  • Or diploma level qualification
  • A current and valid First Aid Certificate
  • A current drivers licence
  • A national police record check is required
  • An international police record check is required, where applicable
  • A current Working with Children check (Blue Card) is required for roles located at Townsville & Mount Isa sites only
