The Salvation Army plays a key role as one of the primary providers of alcohol and other drug services across Australia. Our services encompass Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services, along with various treatment options such as residential treatment centers, community-based support programs, counseling, and withdrawal management services.

About the position

We are in search of Support Workers driven by values, individuals who will offer effective support to Participants, ensuring a secure and structured environment aligning with TSA guidelines, within a Participant-centered recovery-oriented service.

Key Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with more senior colleagues, take appropriate preventive action related to potential high-risk scenarios
  • Lead daily activities and programs, encompassing social engagements, Spirit Lifter sessions, and information groups
  • Provide relevant information to help in evaluating and addressing participant issues, needs, and situations
  • Establish productive relationships with participants to foster self-determination and involvement, assisting them in enhancing their circumstances
  • Deliver support to participants as directed, aiding in the implementation of case plans following the TSA care and practice model

There are 3 casual positions open. You should be available for a 24/7 roster covering afternoon and overnight shifts at either a Residential Rehabilitation facility or a 24/7 Withdrawal Management unit located at Eagle Heights, Mt Tamborine.

Salary and benefits adhere to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 3 Award.

Requirements

  • Appropriate certification for the role
  • Prior experience in the relevant industry, and/or equivalent job training or diploma-level qualification
  • A valid and current First Aid Certificate
  • A valid driver's license
