Head of Risk - Investment Platforms

The Role


Reporting to the General Manager Risk - Asset Management & Investments, you will play a key Line 2 risk role to achieve Insignia Financial's objectives in a safe, secure and compliant manner.

This role has an investment platforms focus for non-superannuation wraps and master trusts across the Insignia Financial group.

This role is responsible for delivering the Line 2 assurance framework and monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of implementation of the Risk Management Framework by undertaking 2nd line assurance reviews.

It is instrumental in supporting effective risk management and mitigation, and delivering better risk outcomes for Insignia, thereby supporting better client outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and provision of effective Line 2 review and challenge across Insignia's investment platforms business (nonsuperannuation)
  • Proactive identification and communication of risks both present and emerging
  • Leadership and provision of thoughtful risk management advice that considers commercial objectives aligned to risk frameworks and risk appetite
  • Line 2 oversight and influence of business planning activities relating to investment platforms
  • Cultivating and fostering enduring relationships with business colleagues
  • Promote improved risk management discussions and outcomes through judgement, influence and engagement
  • Work fluently across other Risk Management functions in order to have endtoend visibility, working closely with Risk Management colleagues aligned to superannuation platforms
  • Key contributor in the reporting process to RE/IDPS boards.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Significant experience in a similar role, ideally within the Financial Services sector
  • Deep knowledge of risk and compliance principles and frameworks
  • Strong understanding of IDPS regulatory requirements
  • Direct risk experience relating to operating IDPS custodial, transactional and reporting services
  • Proven experience within the financial industry (product or riskrelated roles)
  • Superannuation experience preferred
  • Ability to plan, lead and execute activity across a team
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment and problem solve in a complex environment
  • Strong analytical, verbal and report writing skills
  • Strong people leadership skills, demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others and foster a positive team environment
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Commerce, Law or a related discipline.
