Your Role and Impact

The Market Risk Management - Retirement team plays a crucial role in developing cutting-edge risk management frameworks for retirement products like the North/MyNorth Guarantees. As the Head of Market Risk Management - Retirement, you will lead a team of experts in market risk, pricing, analytics, and governance to ensure the effective management of financial risks associated with these Guarantees.

In this position, you will:

  • Devise and implement financial risk management strategies within established frameworks.
  • Provide quantitative analysis and insights for reporting to management, committees, and the Board.
  • Oversee market risk operations related to hedging, pricing, and monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain financial and stochastic models, IT systems, and pricing mechanisms.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reports and insights for decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance risk management practices and drive improvements.
  • Present findings and trends to senior management and governance bodies.
  • Lead and participate in risk management and investment committees.
  • Maintain hedging operations within defined parameters.
  • Strengthen the team's capacity for specialized risk management functions.
  • Drive strategic initiatives for the Guarantees through effective leadership and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with AMP's risk management frameworks.
  • Continuously seek efficiencies and innovative approaches to optimize business outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies for retirement products.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and enhancing individual capabilities.
  • Strong business acumen and familiarity with key performance indicators and financial analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial modeling software.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance or related fields.
