Melbourne, Victoria, Australia CPB Contractors Full time

CPB Contractors is a leading international construction company and a member of the CIMIC Group.

We combine the construction track record and expertise formerly delivered by Leighton Contractors and Thiess, and we also include the people and projects of Leighton Asia.

In conjunction with our clients and partners, CPB Contractors is delivering important and iconic projects across all key sectors of the construction industry, meaning we offer significant and diverse work opportunities.

We are building on the strong foundations of our unique history to create a successful and sustainable future. Safely delivering next-generation infrastructure that better connects people and transforms communities is at the heart of what we do.

About the Opportunity

We have a fabulous opportunity for a Quality & Commissioning Manager with solid commercial buildings experience to deliver a unique scope of works based at Melbourne Airport.

CPB Contractors has been selected to deliver two projects at the Melbourne Airport - the Screening and Baggage Upgrade at QANTAS Terminal 1 and the Melbourne Airport Forecourt.

The T1 project has multiple workstreams that will need to be upgraded as part of this project including the customer and staff screening locations, self-service baggage drop, baggage handling screening machines, access control upgrades and CCTV upgrades.

The Forecourt project is designed to improve access to the airport and includes the construction of a 550 m bridge across 18 spans. The bridge will separate public and commercial vehicle traffic, providing a smoother connection between the Tullamarine Freeway to all airport terminals. It will also make pedestrian traffic safer.

Both projects will be carried out in the live environment of the airport.

The role accountabilities include:

  • Implement, monitor and maintain the CPB Project Management System, verifying the installed systems function and perform as specified in the Design to achieve optimum system performance
  • Facilitate the final acceptance of the Project at the earliest possible date.
  • Facilitate the transfer of the Project to the Owner's Maintenance Staff.
  • Check that the comfort systems meet the requirements of the Occupants.
  • Document that equipment is installed, started and operated as per manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Document that equipment and systems receive complete operational checkout by installing Subcontractors.
  • Document system performance with thorough Functional Performance Testing and monitoring.
  • Verify the completeness of Operations & Maintenance Manuals.

Minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Degree in a discipline that develops critical thinking skills such as Engineering or Science or Trade qualification in a discipline related to construction.
  • Experience as a Lead Auditor of Quality Management Systems with integrated (Safety, Health and Environmental) management system auditor capabilities
  • At least three (3) years of relevant construction quality management experience in a buildings environment
  • Detailed understanding of relevant Australian and International standards, both technical and those related to management systems
  • High level communication, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Solid relationship building skills
  • High level writing skills
  • Good presentation skills with ability to demonstrate and train others

If you are interested in this role and meet the above requirements, please apply today.

We support diversity in the workplace. Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and people with a multicultural background are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please note: This role is being sourced through CPB Contractors directly and we will not accept applications via external recruitment agencies.
