Attendance Officer - Bundamba State Secondary College Education (Organisation site ) Metropolitan South Region, Early Childhood and State Schools Division Bundamba State Secondary College is seeking a dedicated and motivated Attendance Officer to join our team.

The Attendance Officer plays a crucial role in promoting regular attendance and supporting the welfare of our students.

This position involves monitoring student attendance, implementing strategies to address absenteeism, and collaborating with staff, students, and families to ensure a positive school environment conducive to learning.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor student attendance records and follow up on unexplained absences.
Implement strategies to improve attendance rates and reduce truancy.
Work closely with students, parents/guardians, and school staff to address attendance issues and provide support where needed.
Maintain accurate attendance records and generate reports as required.
Collaborate with external agencies and community organisations to support students with attendance challenges.
Conduct home visits and meetings with parents/guardians to discuss attendance concerns and develop action plans.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to attendance management.

Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, families, and staff.
Knowledge of attendance monitoring systems and procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
Empathy and understanding of the factors that may contribute to attendance issues among students.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
