ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.

  • Work a 2 week on 1 week off roster, earning a salary of $100,000
  • Own self-contained Unit in the main street
  • FIFO from Melbourne or Sydney or DIDO for locals

The Position:

  • Managing the catering team performance and employee development
  • Manage the preparation of buffet style bulk cooking for Breakfast, Crib lunch, Dinner & Desserts
  • You will manage a team of Chefs, kitchen utilities & dining room employees to deliver exceptional quality & service to the village residents.
  • Adhere to safe work practices & safe food handling procedures.
  • Ensure all catering controls are in place & wastage is kept to the minimum.
  • Offer guidance and support to the kitchen team where needed, to ensure a great experience for all customers.
  • Enhance workplace culture – display high levels of customer service, contribute ideas & be flexible to meet the needs of the business.

The Person:

  • Qualified Chef with Cert III in Commercial Cookery or higher.
  • Current National police check
  • You must be willing to complete a pre-employment medical/drug screen (cost covered)
  • Be physically fit and able to work 10-hour days.
  • Remote work & bulk cooking experience preferred.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure / tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and great time management is a must.
  • Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures & operations
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety
  • Excellent communication & leadership skills.
