About the role:

As the National Human Resources Manager you'll be in charge of HR operations in across the country, with a focus on safety and building a supportive workplace. Leading a team of three across both states, you'll work together to uphold an outstanding work environment. With a strong dedication to achieving organisational success, you'll introduce effective HR strategies to enhance employee engagement and cultivate a culture where our team members can flourish, both in their professional and personal lives.

Your day to day will include:

  • Offer invaluable counsel to the CEO and management regarding all aspects of human resources and organisational culture.
  • Handle industrial relations matters comprehensively, from negotiation and conflict resolution to ensuring compliance with labour laws and resolving disputes such as unfair dismissal claims.
  • Spearhead the development and execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing leadership capabilities, talent planning, and overall development.
  • Manage return-to-work programs, worker's compensation claims, and holistic employee well-being.
  • Assist in implementing, preparing audits for, and maintaining a formal company QHSE system.
  • Track and report on workplace health and safety performance.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with peers to foster collaboration and trust in the work environment.
  • Uphold and advocate for company values both internally and externally, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued and respected, including promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to the multifunctional Human Resources team.
  • Oversee the implementation of high-quality people programs and complex change initiatives aimed at enhancing both individual and organisational performance, including involvement in selecting and implementing a Human Resources Information Management System.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes and modern HR practices.
  • Collaborate to ensure effective governance within the Human Resources team and across the organisation.
  • Supervise the HR team's management of the entire human resources life cycle.

    About you:

    • Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, or management preferred
    • Demonstrated track record in Human Resource Management or People and Culture Management
    • Experience leading diverse HR teams
    • Dedication to fostering a supportive workplace culture
    • Comfortable conducting site visits in construction and dredging environments with proper safety gear
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with various stakeholders
    • Lead with empathy and influence to ensure all employees are kept safe
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIMS
    • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
