This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced lawyer at a private practice looking to move in-house, or an exciting next step for a Legal Counsel to be at the forefront of the energy transition in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the business in running their day-to-day legal requirements and legal aspects of transaction processes.

  • Designing, drafting, and reviewing the joint venture arrangements with our local development partners.

  • Assisting with securing project rights and project finance for a portfolio of renewable energy projects.

  • Identifying and implementing the corporate structure most suitable for a given project.

  • Managing and overseeing the legal, compliance, and governance risks in the energy market in the Australian region.

  • General legal support regarding large-scale renewable energy projects.

  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure legal compliance.

  • Manage and instruct external counsel.

Your Profile:

  • Law degree from a recognised university.

  • 7+ years PQE in a private practice law firm or as legal counsel for a renewable energy developer or in the energy of infrastructure field.

  • Experience supporting the development of utility-scale Solar and BESS projects in Australia.

  • Excellent negotiation, contract drafting, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Experience with land lease and land purchase transactions.

  • Experience across a range of corporate transactions including mergers & acquisitions, joint venture arrangements, and funding/project financing.

  • Enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that is at the forefront of the energy transition in Australia.
